Like many proposed wind farm developments, the Hills of Gold Wind Farm and Battery Storage project is merely continuing the legacy of previous generations by harvesting the natural resource available to them, namely the wind. It was important to communicate that project planning and public consultation which ultimately led to the removal of 27 turbines from the original concept layout was based on community feedback.
The video explains the importance of strategically designing and locating the roads, turbine locations, substation, transmission lines and maintenance buildings to avoid and minimize environmental impacts. This allows existing cattle grazing and other land uses to continue without any serious impact on biodiversity.
The project overview video takes the viewer on a journey from historical land use, project planning, turbine siting and concluding with the socio-economic benefits that the project will provide the wider Hills of Gold communities.
Based on the project facts, the Hills of Gold Overview video tells the story that the technical reports cannot.
