The CPV Springs Wind project, currently in development by Competitive Power Ventures (CPV), is a proposed 150 MW project located in Hampshire County, West Virginia.
CPV has over 25 years of success and are committed to being active, engaged partners in their local communities. While developing the CPV Springs Wind project, the local community had questions on turbine location and visual impacts to the area. To address concerns and combat misinformation, CPV engaged Truescape to develop a series of TrueView™ photo simulations to support community outreach efforts and better inform the public. These accurate, fact-based visualizations were created from observation points throughout the surrounding area, including several locations within the landowner’s boundaries.
An informational open house was held to meet with community members, introduce the project, and answer any questions. The TrueView™ simulations were printed and on display for the outreach event. Truescape representatives were in attendance, available to answer questions about the visualization process and how the TrueViews were created. This provided a third-party perspective to share factual, well-documented renderings to better inform attendees. During the event, attendees expressed appreciation for the transparency and clarity the visuals provided, which helped to foster understanding and constructive discussion.
As part of the ongoing development process, the renderings were featured on the CPV Springs Wind project website, extending the value of the visualizations beyond a single moment and continuing to inform the broader community.
